Buying beef in bulk is a great way to fill up your freezer with grassfed and finished longhorn beef at an affordable price! A quarter beef will yield approximately 100-175lbs (hanging weight). You will need to place your order at least 5 weeks before you receive your product. This allows time for the animal to be harvested and the meat to be aged. The aging is essential to the texture and flavor of the beef! A $500 deposit will be collected at the time of sale.
Once the animal is processed, we will reach out with the final weight and the remaining balance on your order. The butcher will contact you directly for cutting instructions and pickup coordination. Between 14-28 days (to your specifications) the meat will be cut, wrapped and quick-frozen. You will pay the butcher, upon receipt of your beef, for 'Cut and Wrap' plus your portion of the harvest fee and any hanging charges.

$1.25lb on hanging weight to Buds Meats (Cut/Wrap) + $40 processing fee

We raise our Longhorns without the use of hormones or antibiotics. This is some of the healthiest beef you can buy. Our longhorns graze on the wild grasses that grow just miles away from the Pacific Coast.
We are two brothers that love the ranch lifestyle and feeding our community. We come from a family with deep roots in agriculture, so when our friends at Twisted Horn Ranch decided it was time to move on to greener pastures, we jumped at the chance to purchase their cattle operation in 2021.
As fourth generation ranchers, we take pride in providing the best local longhorn beef in the Northbay. We believe in the importance of knowing where your food comes from and supporting a self-sufficient local economy, and we hope you do too!

When will my meats ship?
ChopLocal farmers and butchers ship orders on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday unless otherwise noted. This is to avoid weekend delays and ensure that you receive your order in good condition.
Can I order meat as a gift?
Yes! Enter the recipient's address in "Shipping Address" and we'll send meat right to their door!
How is my order kept cold?
Each of ChopLocal's farmers and butchers ship directly from their farm or butcher shop, using insulated shipping containers and coolant to ensure your meat arrives in good condition.
Different sellers use different insulation and cooling products, so if you have questions about the specific products used, please contact the seller directly.
What should I do if there's an issue?
If you do not receive your order in a timely manner or the meat has thawed, please contact support@choplocal.com within 24 hours of delivery. Check out our refund policy for more information.
