About Red Belle Ridge Farm

We’re Don and Tiffany, the owners of Red Belle Ridge Farm — a  homestead nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. After years of moving from swampy South Florida to horse country in Reddick and eventually to Gainesville, we finally landed on our 50-acre dream farm in Western North Carolina. Through every move, we've learned what works (and what definitely doesn’t), and now we focus on raising hardy, heritage breed livestock with rotational grazing and low-intervention practices.

Our farm is home to American Guinea Hogs, Clun Forest Sheep, Morgan horses, heritage rabbits, and Buff Orpington chickens. We’re also proud to supply local farmers and homesteaders with trusted brands like New Country Organics, Timeless Fence, and Drinking Post Waterers. The name "Red Belle Ridge" honors our journey from Labelle to Reddick to the Ridge — and the century-old red barn that made it all feel like home.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality products to our customers. Our animals are pasture-raised, treated humanely and fed only New Country Organics products, including free-choice minerals for a more nutritionally complete product.

The slow-cooked nature of these cuts allows the flavors to develop fully, creating a rich, satisfying meal that’s sure to be enjoyed by everyone at the table.

Fun Facts About Pork Roasts & Pork Barbecue:

  • Pork roast is often made from cuts like pork shoulder, pork loin, or pork butt, all of which become tender and flavorful when cooked slowly.

  • Pork barbecue is a southern favorite, where pork is typically slow-cooked and basted in barbecue sauce to achieve a smoky, tender result.

  • A pork roast can easily feed a large group, making it ideal for holiday meals, family dinners, and weekend cookouts.

  • Pork is often paired with a variety of sauces, from vinegar-based to sweet and tangy barbecue sauces, depending on regional preferences.

Nutritional Benefits:

  • Protein: Both pork roasts and pork barbecue are rich in high-quality protein, essential for muscle building and body repair.

  • B Vitamins: Packed with B6 and B12, pork supports your metabolism and overall energy production.

  • Iron & Zinc: These cuts are a great source of iron, which helps deliver oxygen throughout your body, and zinc, which is vital for immune function.

Cooking Tips:

  • Slow-cook for tenderness: The key to a tender pork roast or pulled pork is low and slow cooking. Braise, roast, or slow-cook for several hours at low temperatures to break down the fat and make the meat fall-apart tender.

  • Marinate for flavor: Before roasting or slow cooking, marinate your pork roast in your favorite herbs, spices, or sauces for a deep, flavorful crust.

  • Barbecue or Smoke for That Perfect Taste: For pork barbecue, slow-cook the meat on a grill or smoker with wood chips to infuse the meat with a rich, smoky flavor.

  • Rest after cooking: Allow your pork roast to rest after cooking for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps redistribute the juices and keep the meat moist.

Cooking Temperatures:

  • Pork roasts should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), and then allowed to rest for 3 minutes before serving.

  • Pulled pork should be cooked to 190°F (88°C) for that perfect, tender texture that shreds easily.
