About Lazy Creek Meats

Lazy Creek Meats is a fourth-generation cattle operation based in the rolling hills of South-Central Ohio. Our family has been raising cattle since 1950, and today we’re continuing that tradition with a simple goal: produce honest, high-quality beef for families who want to know where their food comes from.

Our cattle are born and raised on pasture, where they have constant access to grass, forage, and clean water. We focus on practical, responsible management—rotational grazing, careful forage production, and low-stress handling—to keep both the land and our cattle healthy. We never use sub-therapeutic antibiotics or growth hormones.

To ensure consistent flavor and tenderness, our cattle receive a balanced, all-natural diet that includes grass, hay, and a carefully selected blend of grains, vitamins, and minerals.

From conception to consumption, our mission is simple: raise beef we’re proud to feed our own family, and share it with yours.

Pork Shoulder Roast Delivered to Your Door

Pork Shoulder Roast Near Me

Pork shoulder roast is a richly flavored cut that is perfect for slow cooking, braising, or roasting. Cut from the upper part of the pig’s shoulder, this versatile roast has a good balance of meat and fat, making it incredibly flavorful and tender when cooked low and slow. Whether you’re preparing a hearty meal for a family gathering, a pulled pork feast, or a comforting stew, pork shoulder roast delivers rich flavor and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness.

This cut benefits from long, slow cooking methods that allow the fat to break down and infuse the meat with flavor. Whether you’re roasting it whole in the oven or shredding it for tacos, pork shoulder roast is an affordable and delicious choice that’s perfect for feeding a crowd.

Fun Facts About Pork Shoulder Roast:

  • Pork shoulder roast is sometimes referred to as pork butt or Boston butt. It’s a cut from the upper shoulder and can be used in a variety of dishes.

  • This cut is known for its ability to become fall-apart tender when slow-cooked, making it ideal for pulled pork sandwiches or tacos.

  • Pork shoulder roast is traditionally used in southern-style BBQ, where it’s slow-cooked over wood or charcoal for several hours to create rich, smoky flavor.

  • It’s a budget-friendly cut that provides great value when cooking for a large group or meal prepping.

Nutritional Benefits:

  • Protein: Pork shoulder roast is a great source of high-quality protein, which supports muscle growth and repair.

  • B Vitamins: Rich in B6 and B12, essential for energy metabolism and overall health.

  • Iron & Zinc: Contains iron for blood oxygenation and zinc for immune support.

Cooking Tips:

  • Slow-Cook for Tenderness: The best way to cook pork shoulder roast is to slow-cook it. Whether in the oven or in a slow cooker, low heat over a long period (usually 4-6 hours) will render the fat and make the meat fall apart.

  • Perfect for Pulled Pork: After slow cooking, shred the pork shoulder roast with forks to make pulled pork for sandwiches, tacos, or sliders.

  • Add Flavor with a Rub: Season your pork shoulder roast with a dry rub or marinade before cooking for added flavor. Consider using spices like paprika, garlic powder, and brown sugar for a delicious crust.

  • Roast with Vegetables: Slow-roast your pork shoulder roast with root vegetables like carrots, potatoes, and onions to make a complete meal in one dish.

Cooking Temperatures:

  • Pork shoulder roast should be cooked to an internal temperature of 190-200°F (88-93°C) if you’re slow-cooking for a tender, pull-apart texture. For a roast-style preparation, aim for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and allow it to rest for 3 minutes before serving.
